The Great Hall was in uproar. Bad Munki, the self-proclaimed prophet and seer of the Dwarven fortress Gemclod had rushed in, his eyes wide, his hair mad. With a mighty leap he jumped atop the legendary table Foundmaster and addressed the dwarves.

'My brothers, I have seen the future! A vision came to me in the night, one more vivid than I have ever before witessed! I saw...

... Christmas.'

Former Overseer and First Praetor Vox's List of Suggestions for Whoever may assume power:
For the eyes of the Sixth Overseer Only!

The consecutive rule of Boing and Bad Munki was a one-two punch to our people. Boing murdered dwarves, made enemies, and sent our heroes to their deaths. Munki's failures were more through negligence than outright madness, but are nearly as great as Boing's- we now stand atop a useless pile of trade goods rather than arms, armor, and war machines. But there is yet time to right their wrongs. Please, consider the following:

-Smelting+Forging. Munki quieted all our forges to make a pile of useless junk, so we have no steel and a huge deficit of armor and weapons. Make iron and pig iron, then steel. As the dwarven capital, we should have thousands of bars of steel on hand, not ZERO! Our soldiers resort to wearing the discarded outfits of our wretched foes. Churn out the good stuff instead of junk! Make use of what adamantine we have on hand, but do not mine more unless we go through our stocks- if we err again, we will not be given a second chance.
-Ready our military! I, for one, have yet to be issued my weapon properly. I know there are probably many others that suffer the same. Ramp up training, increase the number of squads, sort out gear properly. Make sure the burrows are prepared so no dwarf is needlessly caught off-guard. Post guard animals outside.
-Prepare proper tombs for our heroes and leaders. Return those burial places that have been misappropriated under the criminal regimes to their true owners. Let all those who follow know the names of our champions.
-Be vigilant. We face threats from all directions, now. Pursue your own projects, but never put the safety of Gemclod second.
-Punish the Traitor, Boing. The blood of many dwarves is upon her evil hands. how you achieve this end is up to you- but it has been long in coming.

It should be simple for any competent overseer to complete all of these things in addition to whatever other goals they may have. I feel that the dwarves of Gemclod, and I in particular, could easily have perished under the rule of the Inept Two- it is as though we have been given another lease on life. Do not squander it!
