Elven Jig

Key: D
Metre: 6/8

I wanted to write a jig. *shrug* I also wanted some way of introducing a piano into the fortress because I was running out of ways to say 'this dwarf dreamt about another dwarf singing to him'. So where would one come from? Maybe the elves? The scene was born backwards from that really. Why did the elf bring a piano? To play a song at Gemclod. Why? To mock Commatoes! Commatoes was such a hilarious bit-part character, I felt it would be wrong to dedicate the song to any other dwarf.

Fun fact: Commatoes' song was originally a barbershop quartet. I actually got some way into writing it before I realised that what I'd written was shit.

Anyway, for anyone interested, here's the fiddle part by itself with audio (24 bars of rest excised). The audio will sound pretty odd since it's a countermelody suddenly thrust into the spotlight with nothing to back it up. BUT! I can always write up a full fiddle and piano version with no voice if the resident fiddlers want something to add to their repertory. The only difference between it and regular jigs will be that its origins were so very silly.
