"A Child Goes Missing"

Immediately, I began ringing the warning bell. As fast as lightning, I saw Minty streaming out the gates beneath me. He went screaming down the road, quite literally, and had made it halfway to Boing's previous location before he spotted the would-be kidnapper from halfway across the swamp. Fortunately for Chariot and Boing, the elf had decided to make its escape by running northwest past the fortress, perhaps thinking the river would hamper pursuers. It was not to be, however, as that effectively pinned the elf between Minty and the fortress, and Minty had already locked on to the elf and was bearing down like some sort of elf-seeking crossbow bolt. With a still-bloody axe on the front. I'll have to see if this so-called "SCIENCE TEAM" I've been hearing a couple dwarves talking about can actually come up with something like that. It could be useful.

As Minty went tearing across the swamp, a trail of rabid froth streaming out from the corners of his, some of the new members of The Knives of Domination made their way out the gate as well. Only by firing their crossbows were they able to reach the hapless elf first. I only saw one crossbow bolt fire, though, before Minty managed to bring his considerable bulk around to bear, after which he quickly closed in on the elf and went to work. The first did not last long, as Minty seemed to sever a piece of the elf with every swing of his axe. It was a sight to behold. Without even slowing down, Minty closed on the elf, cut it to pieces, and turned to run back to the road to stand guard. I think he made it nearly all the way there before several of the body parts, or even Chariot, had hit the ground.

Minty and his troops, as well as The Knives of Domination, decided to take up posts midway down the road for a while after that, as a precaution. Of course, I did not interfere. The road workers, now feeling quite safe, returned immediately to work. Except Boing, she seems to have changed her mind about the road, and has not yet returned.
